And so live goes on. I have reverted to the dark side and Nancy is now proudly wearing a set of beautiful silver shoes. It was very hard using boots through the winter as it was taking a long time to get her feet clean and dry enough to wear them, and her feet were too low to go without. We are now indulging in some beautiful hacks. Hairy and Hatti have been resting throughout the winter. We are now planning a new regime for them. It has altered dramatically as Madeline is unexpectedly expecting number 4, well she always did want 4 and now the shock has receded everyone is delighted (the other 3 want to call it Harry and make its bedroom under the stairs). So Fairy will be taking on Hatti and Mermaid will have Hairy. We are now looking for the right instructor to assist them. Kali dog is doing well and has a 3rd, 4th and 2nd in different shoes and her agility work is great fun, as she's a puppy she is doing balance work and can do the tunnel. Rusty, after being on antibiotics since Christmas was taken for a second opinion, and after several tests involving injections and blood tests and a day at the vet, all of which he seemed to enjoy, he has been diagnosed with full blown cushings, I had suggested this to both his allopathic and homeopathic vets both of which dismissed it, but once you've seen and dealt with cushings, the symptoms are unmistakable. I'm now looking for a job to pay for all this. If anyone has any useful knowledge, please let me know. And so life goes on.

Well Nancy's happy hacking is starting to improve. On a good day she can manage the "Lincolnshire Blob" which means dawdling at the walk, shuffling at the trott and she can even manage a slow blobby canter, all of which is a very comfortable and an enjoyable way to see the countryside. Yesterday I decided to do the bridle path, Old Fendyke and back down Badgate. The bridle path starts by going through an extremely picturesque farm yard, BUT horror or horrors happily grazing in it were THREE SABRE TOOTH SHEEP. I always lead her through this yard as it's gated (and has a mounting block one end and a good strong gate the other) As I walked though I could feel her holding her breath and tiptoeing in case she needed to panic, the sheep of course moved away which rather bolsted Nancy's confidence, she reckoned it was the snorting that kept them under control (and she was probably right). We reached the other side safely, Nancy heaved a great sigh of relief, turned to face the track and saw to her horror FOUR LARGE LINCOLNSHIRE REDS AND THEIR HUSBAND right next to the fence. I felt her sharp intake of breath and she quivered all the way past them. The rest of the hack was uneventfful and I believe it has boosted her confidence. I shall find out next time.
