What a difference a day and 10mls of Metacam makes. Rosie footy but far more comfortable.

Sadly Rosie's improvement didn't last. Just 3 days later (on Friday 13th - how ironic!) she was put to sleep. Her flat feet (genetics were against her from the start of all this I guess as she had the world's flattest feet). We were unable to control her pain and I would not allow her to go on in pain & stressed.
She was an amazing little horse - not what I originally intended buying but something in her touched me (and many others it would seem in the brief time she was with me judging by the messages here, on FB and from texts & cards I have had from people). I have never had such a connection with any horse before and I suspect never will again. Mum said that Rosie always focussed totally on me when I was on the yard even more so after her op. I did more with her in 6 months than I did with Jake (bless him) in 6 years. She taught me that I am a braver person on the ground than I ever imagined (now need to transfer that to the saddle don't I!!) and that my GW skills & timing are far better than I give myself credit for. Throughout all her odd behaviour (charging in & out of the field, galloping round me etc) Rosie never scared me - we even faced some challenges on horse back that mum reminded me of this morning that would normally have left me running for home - on Rosie it was alright, she trusted me & I her.
The little bay mare that ran through my dreams last year came for a brief visit, touched all of us greatly and is now back in my dreams.
Run free Rosie - much loved and never forgotten.
