After a longer than usual winter break, HRH (his royal horseness) Cerion Prince now has his new shoes on, back lady booked for for friday, so time for some road work.
Day 1 Saturday
Turn right out of yard, Sun shining, blue sky, fluffy white white clouds, blossom on trees, wild flowers in hedgerows, birds singing, no traffic and only a slight flick of an ear at the temporary bridge rail, bliss, horse and rider happy.
Day 2 Sunday
Turn left out of yard, HRH likes going left? Sun shining, birds singing etc, turn left at T junction, (wonder what that arrow on that sign is for) turn left at cross road, having a good nose in people's gardens, turn left onto bridle pass, the only one we have, amazing views of Black mountains! Annoying tractor driver not left enough room so riding on crops! Set off back up road home, see two old tractors coming down road, turn around wait for them to follow the arrow! Then told by nice man in tractor that there are 50 more to come, f"*# most had flags on, sum had trailers with excitable children in the back waving at the dancing horse, who had gone from Salsa to cha cha cha and was now moon walking to a safe distance! Had to move as cars where trying to pass, explained about tractors, then motor bike turned up! At this point I thought off to Hay we go! Well the festival is on and I planned to go on Monday anyway, just not on my horse!
Have to say HRH coped very well considering ( always ride out in a rope halter) and after the last tractor had chugged its way past, we were still together and in the same county, perhaps all these years of attending clinics has paid of or at 20 he is finally settling down? He was only a bit warm when we got back, myself on the other hand is having a nice lie down in a darken room, is it Pimms o'clock yet?
