Was asked if I could put some of my pics in here. I don't do them very often as I have to be in the right frame of mind and/or have an image that really inspires me. But here are some of the abstract horse paintings I've done over the years. They're all technical drawing pen and watercolour, or plain pencil images. A comissioned painting, "Dash and Sam" A painting I did for EMW to be auctioned off at the last charity ball "Arod and Hasufel" - pencil sketch from my imagination (no photos as reference so anatomically they're a bit funky); photoshopped to add some texture Pencil sketch; this one again from my imagination Design for a tattoo for a friend. Again from my imagination but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. This one's just in technical drawing pen. I haven't decided if/how I'd like to paint it. Got some ideas about continuing what I call my 'prehistoric' style, and perhaps using some fingerprints on there. Not horse-related, but I'm also something of a sci-fi geek; and a big fan of the X-Files. I've dabbled with quite a lot of photoshop montaging, which is great fun: Finally; I've done the odd bit of experimenting with web design. Here's my attempt at playing with some funky javascript. Just click, hold, and drag. Fnarfnarfnar..... In case you didn't spot it because you were too busy looking at the rude bits; that's David Duchovny (Mulder-from-the-X-files)'s face photoshopped onto Michaelangelo's David. Arf.

Well if you want to do some more nicxf... I've been wanting to get a horse tattoo for ages but never found the right design. I'm always drawn to chalk carvings/prehistoric drawings. The Uffington horse has a particular resonance, as we rode past it at the ride where Marygold and I completed our first race ride... And I like the tattoo design you've done above, but it's not quite 'me'.
If you feel like doing something for me, I'd happily make a donation to EMW.

I'd be happy to. What would you say IS 'you' style wise? Much, much simpler, like the real chalk horses? if it's any help, here are a couple of my other pencil sketches in that sort of style:

They're fab! I think I like the first one more. The more 'prehistoric' the better! Yes, I do like the proper chalk horses. I had thought about using the Uffington White Horse itself, but it's not quite right! If it's any help, this is the tattoo that I already have: Oh, and if you can get the date (18th May 2009) in there as well in some format that'd be fab. Don't want much, do I?! ;D ;D ;D

gemma....ok; I'll have a think. You may need to poke me to remind me as I'm a bit rubbish... laura - thank you. I've only ever sold one, the first one up there that was done on commission. I've exchanged a few for stuff, too. I would consider doing another if you had a particular image you wanted captured. But as I said before; I tend to only do them when the mood takes me, so I'm not hugely reliable. But if you had some pictures you'd like me to ponder, and didn't mind waiting, then I'd be happy to have a go.

Well, let's just say I "commissioned" Nicxf to produce the first picture and "sell" it to me for nothing so that we could auction it at the EMW Spring Ball.

These are, as always, nicxf, just fabulous. Your work is mstical, magical and so talented. It brings shivers to me. The EMW picture is amazing. I want a version with the mare in dapple grey (Luna-the-tic) and the foal coloured like DF( beanie baby) That would make a great pressie for OH birthday given the sad looney arab is his girl!

So I guess that takes my total of actual commissions to...um...three. ;D These are, as always, nicxf, just fabulous. Your work is mstical, magical and so talented. It brings shivers to me. Aww, thank you. If I ever get the time and inspiration then I'm sure I could oblige. Would need to see photos though for colour references (what's a beanie baby?).
