It seems appropriate to have a thread here with our much missed animals, where we can remember Bernard and share some memories. I'm having a little smile here. Just remembering creeping into the lounge in the darkness, then getting a mutual fright with Bernard as I woke him up from his comfy slumber on the sofa. Wine glass held loosely but securely in hand... Also the night when he and Jonquil forgot I was staying and went to bed, locking me out.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Bernard yet I have the feel that he was a wonderful, kind and gentle man who will sorely be missed by a much wider family that that purely based on blood ties. float free Bernard

I only had the pleasure of meeting Bernard once, last year, and we had a chat about dogs as Laurel was with him. He seemed like just the kind of dad any girl would want - a kind and gentle man.

Just as I was leaving the clinic this year Jonquil gave me some raspberries that she said she & Bernard has planted last year as an experiment (they have an amazing allotment) - they were the sweetest raspberries I have ever eaten. And at previous clinics I know we have eaten home grown tomatoes and strawberries. So thats how I would like to remember Bernard - in his garden, with Laurel.
