This was a lovely day when Unicorn and Breakfast came to visit.
What a fab weekend!
On Saturday, after our lesson, Breakfast and I wandered over to see KAS and her gang.
And guess who came out to play?
The ever gorgeous Celebrideeee....
....and I got to test out his rather lush new saddle!
even if he wasn't very impressed with the whole thing!
The saddle is fab... and Celeb is just delicious!
And today Breakfast and I spent all day with the ponies, went for a wander on the common, no-one fell off and then we drank a lot of tea!
Not a bad weekend at all
Then there were some photos of arriving at a new field.
Always grateful to good friends at times like this... Jestersmum was a patient star and drove my gang so carefully. Vicki ended up in the trailer loading Fin, who of course decided he wasn't going in. But he did. A bit of Vicki at the front and me with a lunge line at the back in the end. He has been taught to yield to pressure from front and back, but on this occasion it took some work on both ends. Sigh. Once she was in, Tee Pee stood like a dream waiting for him, assisted by regular bits of carrot from Jestersmum.
(This confirms what I've mentioned in his story, he never responds to the same thing twice when loading). Certainly, if I owned a trailer or lorry I'd be loading them regularly to make life easy.
Celebridee was of course a star, walking straight on and travelling so quietly that we wondered if he'd climbed out over the ramp as we were leaving the yard.
I never introduce a horse straight in with new mates, but had to bend that rule this time. The coloured horse in the pics has no respect for electric fence, and we decided the possibility of having them all over the field with tape and posts flying was probably worse than letting them loose in a big field. Bearing in mind that Celeb is the most amiable of horses around others. He proved that yet again, as the photos show. When they were in full excited flight Celeb slipped and somehow both front fastenings came undone on his rug. I said "Heck, we'll never get hold of him" - and guess what? He came over and stood next to me so I could take the rug off, with no need to try to grab him at all. Amazing.
So here is a bit of a photo-fest. Hope there aren't too many, but I know what you lot are like. (Quality not great, my bloomin' camera moved it's settings again, a grievous design flaw ).
