More interesting stuff Quest. Interesting what these easy peasy ones tell you when they change home isn't it?

Sounds like things are moving in the right direction. Confidence is such a strange thing isn't - for humans and horses!!

Nancy and I braved the new ride alone today without any problems at all. We even passed a German Shepherd who had his back legs on a trolly wandering up the road with his owner I suppose nancy reckoned she's seen a horse and cart so a dog and "cart" is normal. Gave me a start though. Hairy did well walking out of the gate did a couple of calm circles on the road and back in again. All doing well. We must now start considering the ride with the saber tooth sheep and the ride with the saber tooth Shetlands.

Wind was high today so. Stayed in the field and continued working on our simple changes through a figure of 8. I stayed in ropes and Nancy did very well especially as Hairy decided to join in cantering round and attempting to dive bomb us. Nancy took no notice, but I was pleased to see Hairy moving voluntarily and starting to play. I think this little girl will probably enjoy liberty work, but I need her to come to terms with circling without the rodeo act aimed at me

Did our 7th ride up the new hack route today with no problems at all, even passes the Troll Bridge with out trip trapping. I've to decide on the next route now. Should it be the one with the sabre tooth sheep or the one with the flesh eating Shetlands. Decisions decisions. Hairy's circles are improving and today instead of threatening to kill me as she passed she contented herself with a squeal. Of course neither Fairy, Mermaid or Superman are allowed to do much with her while she is sorting out these confidence issues although in all other matters she is excellent

Took Namara up the bank - hot, sunny, small breeze, wind turbines turning slowly in the distance, church bells ringing. Unbelievable.

All going well with Nancy's hacking out and she's dealing well now with the sabre tooth Shetlands although the dog kennels can prove tricky when they are boiling up something obnoxious. Hairy is really interesting at the moment, showing many displacement activities and stating her worries with bad faces and squeals when she is asked to work away from me. The gentle approach is working well and if she happens to run into a stick or my elbow she doesn't take offence. My latest friend who is studying reiki and animal communications has been visiting to practice on the girls and today took Hairy into the stable for a "proper" session with some quite extreme responses and finally a lot of licking, chewing and yawning. So Hairy is now off work for a few days while she processes. Interestingly when I brought her down to the stable this evening she walked happily along side me instead of either pulling faces or walking behind
