I received the email re. closing the forum, just wondering if there will be an alternative virtual place set up? I know FB has more or less squashed many forums but there is the capacity to add docs/notes to groups I believe. Anyway, just expressing an interest.

I must admit that having been a member of forums for many years I hardly ever visit them nowadays, most people I'm friends with on FB, like Kas? I don't post often on any forum though, just come and read.

Hi, yes, I sent the email out. The thing is that the forum has become inactive. It was quiet for some time really, with only a few people posting. That led to the impression that it was only about discussing a fairly limited range of horsemanship. That wasn't true, but inevitable if only half a dozen people were providing most of the info. My thought is to lock the forum for new posts for the time being and maybe review after Christmas. Personally I like this style of discussion group because, unlike FB, the discussions and reports stay for future reference, and can be searched if people want to look up topics. I can't leave it open but dormant as it is now, because without regular visitors it will be open to attack by trolls or people putting up dodgy info. I can be contacted via my Exploring Horsemanship site, or the Exploring Horsemanship FB page. How about I say that I'll post any updates on the future of the forum on the FB page? Just join that to keep informed. If the forum is brought back to life in the new year I would like to feel that anyone would feel they could post about their experiences and adventures in any equine discipline. Exploring Horsemanship has been my vision for many years and I would want it to be a source of information about a wide range of life with horses.
This forum has been a great source of support for me and many others over the years. Many friendships have been forged here. So if I have enough people contact me via FB or email asking for it to be rejuvenated I'll be only too happy.
Thanks for all your support and, in some cases, hours of typing!
Love to all, Kas xx
