I consider myself an expert on mud fever having a white legged Arab. But SFH has mud fever symptoms, any time of the year on her hind legs starting at her egots and travelling u.p her legs. The vet thought mites and we treated her and there was some improvement, but they're back again now. SFH tells me they are sensitive but I am allowed to deal with them. She also has an itchy mane kept under control with coconut oil. I'm starting to think diet. It's obviously (I think) that it's some sort of allergic reaction, buts its in a very specific place and not affected by weather, damp or dry conditions. Any one got any ideas?

Alfalfa can give them itchy skin? I'll have a think, both Khan and Rafferty have itchy, odd skin at times for various reasons.
E45 Stop Itch cream does what it says, works for a few hours and suggested by my vet.

No St. John’s wort anywhere. I’ll have to look at E45. I’ve got a feeling that it has an ingredient I’m not happy with. Coconut oil and calendula both stop the itching and soreness but don’t clear it up. I’m currently using a very powerful cream from the vet and the scabs really reminds me of mud fever but just above the fetlock on the cannon bone and in her mane is most odd and very specific
