Are Parelli bridles worth the money?

I was wondering? A lady has offered me one for a £140 pounds. But to be honest? I think a headstall/mecate reins and slobber straps wouldn't set me back that much, even for a good quality one?

It looks nice enough- I'm just not sure the price second hand is justified.

Thoughts please?

No they aren't worth the money. They are just normal tack with an expensive brand added. As you say you can source really nice tack at a fraction of the price. Same goes for all of the Parelli gear, overpriced and the halters aren't even a good fit. That's my humble opinion anyway LOL!

Ok, good to know. The lady selling it was quite haughty when I said that I wondered if it was too expensive. You're right about the halters- my friend has just paid through the nose for one and it slips undone all of the time. She's bought a Buck Branaman one and that does the job, but cheaper.

I get my halters from Stephen Halfpenny. Rob at Lodge Ropes went quiet a fair few years ago so I stopped using him. Never had problems with Parelli halters coming undone, they use the same knot as I would on all of them (as in the header photo here), but they just don't fit properly.
Their tack is just expensive because they've put their name on. You can find it all much cheaper elsewhere, Myler bits for example. I'm rather dubious about the saddles, re the fit that I've seen...

Are you saying there is a knock-off version of Myler bits? I need a new one

I think there are quite a few miler copies out there, now? It's just knowing if there is one that is a quality copy Xx
