OK, I'm back.
I came back today to do some laundry and stuff, and decided I might as well hang on and speak to the owners on their return. (Just to explain in person about the melted mattress cover and the dead dishwasher... I did spend an hour dealing with the lack of a dishwasher ).
So, they arrived back just after 3, with Andy limping badly and leaning on a rolled umbrella. He'd hurt his knee while they were away. He swears he just went for a swim, was absolutely fine, then his knee "went" later. The friends who dropped them off had other theories on how he came to have the injury
So off they go to the doctor, then I get a call to say they have to go straight to A+E, where there is a team is waiting for him! "No problems" says I, "leave it to me, I'll be fine". So Sue packs an overnight bag in case it's needed and rushes off.
I'm still here. The Dutch family have rung to say they'll definitely be here by 10.30. The two regulars have sympathised and asked me to let them know how Andy gets on. I've had calls from Andy's mum and his brothers. Then a call from one of their local mates who said "Somebody saw Andy in A+E, what's happened??". Small world innit? Two contractors came in and asked if I'd have to stay. I said I couldn't, we've got a full house and no extra beds. I expect you can guess the kind offers I got then. The couple booked into the suite arrived, went to their room and didn't emerge for two hours, not even to take their bags in out of the car. They've gone out to eat now, obviously need to top up their energy levels - lucky sods. Sue rang to say "I'm starving, are you??" I confirmed that I was indeed starving. Really looking forward to our takeaway. However, Andy has had a needle stuck in his knee, and now they are thinking of xraying him, so it will be a while...
I went off to the loung thinking maybe I could catch up on a bit of schools work only to realise that in the Cichlid tank murder was under way! The big cichlids were starting to eat one of the little cichlids!! They had started on his fins!! So the next half hour passed happily chasing pirhanna relatives round the tank with two nets until I could save him - much against his will.
