What a little superstar - I don't know many horses that would continue to work with that stonking great tractor in the background. I hope he's less footy today.

It's one of the things that's really handy about being on our yard - there's stuff like that going on all the time and I'm amazed how quickly the ponies get used to it. I was expecting Cash to be a bit more bothered - getting that trailer in place had been pretty rattly, but he was just soo cool about it all. He seems to have pretty much decided that as long as Breakfast is with him he can cope with anything

... but he was very ouchy on his feet today... I am really ware of Pog's increased sensitivity after rain. On recommendation, I keep a bottle or tub of Global Herbs Lami-Prone supplement, and up the dose after rain. Not really sure how much it does, but it's reassuring to know I'm trying to do something, and I'm told it supports the innards when they are coping with the stresses of even that little bit of extra yum grass. Pog's decreased footiness coincides with the addition of the supplement, but that could also be a few days after rain when the growth spurt has died down. Hark at me sitting on the fence. I'm also endlessly brassic so it's easy to convince myself that expensive supplements might not work! Anyway - caught up with this whole story and pics now - nice going!

I'm fairly sure it's a simple injury type ouch- probably a stone bruise combined with horrible flare, which although it's getting under control won't be properly resolved for a few trims yet. That is meaning he's tending to chip the outside of his hoof. There isn't much grass in the field at the moment so even with rain, I don't think that is going to be affecting him too badly.

Gosh he really has come a long way in such a short space of time! If only you weren't so far away I'd be tempted to send you my challenging, but very lovely young gelding! I think he could do with the Breakfast treatment.

Today I had a training mission: Can Cash pony? Apparently not, he spent a lot of time pulling back and finding it hard to move forward... ... meanwhile helpful Zorro couldn't work out if I wanted him to bite or kick the pesky yellow horse who kept following him around. Here he was thinking of biting him. In the end I needed to have a stick to push Cash forward a bit from behind when he got his feet jammed up, but with that we could go along quite nicely. I think if we do a few more sessions like this he will get pretty good at it. It was a very useful exercise, showing some things I needed to work on with both horses.

LOL!!! Cash deserves the VHC (Valiant Horse Cross) for being brave enough to even try ponying alongside Zorro, never mind doing so well

Cash figured out a lot more quickly than Zorro did that Zorro wasn't going to be allowed to do anything mean to him and consequently started pushing his luck fairly quickly. He is a very cheeky little golden horse.
