Too many people seem to be hitting the deck at the moment! Glad you are OK - good job we have 2 hips.

Ouch, I do hope you're doing ok Breakfast. My ponios have magnesium deficiency syndrome or the 'grass stupids' at we call it. I'm not doing as much ridden work with mine either due to crap weather and boggy paddocks. Mikey is 16 and recently he's decided that being cold backed again when the saddle comes out is funny. He's had a 100% clear back check and he's not overweight/not being pinched by newly flocked saddle. But nonetheless we're still having to tighten girths up by a hole, get on lightly otherwise we get a full height rear and four warp speed reverse strides.
So I think they're all a bit backward due to lack of opportunity to ride, the weather and my inability to ride as much.
I can't wait to see the clinic write up, and I hope your hips recover ok Xx

Since the clinic ( which went well and I am in the process of writing up ) I got bucked off again, right into the fence, so now my shoulders and back are sore too.
I think it's about saddle fit, so going to try in the treeless again. If I still get decked then, I don't know where we go, but I have to give that a chance first.

Do you want to borrow a really treeless before I sell it Ben? There are still rigid parts in the Treefree, which would mean you'd need to be careful about his withers. Problem is, it won't be as stable if the wheels do come off. I guess you wouldn't want to abandon stirrups?

I'm not too worried about that as yet, we'll see how this weekend goes. I have a few different things to try. I don't think his withers are super-sensitive, I just think that saddle was too tight for them. Hopefully the treefree will be alright- he's worn it before quite comfortably, but then that was also true of the western.

Do you think it could just be a case of better grass and an incremental increase in weight?
I've just had to re-adjust the guys saddles too and now we don't have reverse with Mikey Xx
